Did You Know?
Madagascar has long been known for its incredible wealth of minerals. Roughly eighty of its 389 known minerals occur in gem quality including beryl, tourmaline, sapphire, and quartz.
March: Aquamarine – The blue to slightly greenish-blue variety of the mineral beryl. Crystals are sometimes big enough to cut fashioned gems of more than 100 carats. Well-formed crystals make superb mineral specimens. Source: Gemological Institute of America.
